InsituPro: Automating In Situ Hybridization (ISH)

CEM’s InsituPro is a dedicated system designed particularly for automated in situ hybridization (ISH) to prepare samples for the identification of RNA (mRNA, miRNA) or DNA.

The InsituPro system has also been designed for immunohistochemistry (IHC) to detect numerous antigens, such as proteins. It automates all the tedious and repetitive washing and incubation steps that are involved in ISH and IHC procedures.

Use Whole Mounts and Slides

The InsituPro system can easily accommodate both whole-mount slides and samples. Users can easily and rapidly switch between the specimens. Up to 60 vibratome sections or whole mounts can be processed simultaneously with separate probes or antibodies.

Whole-mount preparations and vibratome sections are processed in a separate incubation basket in keyhole-shaped cavities available in the specimen tray. The specimen tray allows heating and cooling ranging from 6°C to 75°C and enables very mild liquid exchange for even the most delicate samples.

Thin-section slides are positioned on a counter slide, producing an isolated incubation chamber. While six of these chambers are incorporated into a slide block, 10 of such blocks are vertically positioned into the heated incubation tub.

The incubation tub helps regulate high temperatures and humidity for optimal performance. Gravity flow and capillary forces fuel the exchange of liquids. This makes sure that the sections are completely submerged in a buffer.
