MEMS-based fiber optic pressure sensor (OPP-M200—PEEK encapsulation)

OpSens’ OPP-M is a MEMS-based fiber optic pressure sensor designed exclusively for measuring human and animal physiological pressure. These 0.20 mm OD tiny sensors are intended for use in medical equipment such as catheters or guidewires.

Minimally invasive physiological pressure measurement is possible using guidewires or other comparable interventional devices. Its new patent-pending design aids in the removal of moisture-induced drift and the reduction of thermal zero shift.

The PK6 encapsulation is excellent for applications that demand a bigger dimension yet have difficult material compatibility criteria.

OpSens’ new encapsulated OPP-M is available for integration. The encapsulation can be performed on the sensor tip and across the entire optical cable in various materials and sizes. The bundled sensor significantly reduces product development expenditure, lowering the total cost of setup and manufacturing processes.

The OPP-M addresses the medical industry’s requirements for long-term precision, consistency, low drift, and high-fidelity pressure measurements in the presence of harsh RF, EM, MR, and microwave fields by integrating OpSens WLPI signal conditioning technology (patent # 7,259,862) and the characteristic benefits of fiber optic.
