MultiPep 2™: Advanced Automated Parallel Peptide Synthesizer

CEM has launched a sophisticated automated parallel peptide synthesizer known as MultiPep 2™. The system provides unprecedented flexibility for screening an unlimited number of peptides at the same time using plates, columns, or cellulose membrane formats.

Flexible Formats

  • Plates = up to 384 (4 x 96) peptides from 1 to 10 μmol
  • Columns = 72 columns (2, 5 and 10 mL) from 10 to 300 μmol, 48 columns (2, 5, 10 and 20 mL) from 10 to 500 μmol, and 48 mini-columns (0.25 and 0.50 mL) from 1 to 15 μmol
  • SPOT synthesis = up to 2400 peptides on four cellulose membranes
  • CelluSpots™ = up to 768 peptides on a dissolvable cellulose support for spotting on many identical slides

Peptide libraries

Peptide Synthesis with 96 Well Plates and Columns

Huge libraries of peptides can be effortlessly generated using 96 well plates with the MultiPep 2™ peptide synthesizer. For the concurrent synthesis of 384 peptides, up to 4 x 96 well plates can be utilized at one time. Users can apply mini-columns (up to 0.5 mL) to generate up to 48 peptides at the same time but they can also use 72 larger columns (2, 5, or 10 mL size) simultaneously.

Integrated Heating Module

Parallel Peptide Synthesis at Elevated Temperature

Users can apply high-temperature synthesis conditions to 96 columns or well plates run on the MultiPep 2™ peptide synthesizer. This can be easily achieved with optional heating block accessories fitted with adjustable temperature control. High temperatures help improve the purity of complex and longer sequences.

SPOT Synthesis

Peptide Microarrays

SPOT synthesis helps generate a countless number of immobilized peptides on cellulose membranes. This is handy for on-support binding analyses as well as for solution-based and cell-based assays. The MultiPep 2™ has a SPOT synthesis option that allows users to create up to 2400 peptides in one batch for high-throughput screening applications.

CelluSpots

Multiple Copies of Peptide Arrays on Glass Slides

Users can easily create numerous copies of a peptide array on glass slides. The CelluSpots technology combines the advantages of traditional SPOT synthesis with a unique dissolvable cellulose support for making many identical copies of a peptide array. This is built on the application of the unique Slide Spotting robot following SPOT synthesis on the dissolvable cellulose support.

Peptide Nucleic Acids

Optimized PNA Synthesis

The MultiPep 2™ is a powerful tool designed for small-scale synthesis, where there is a need for costly monomers. Because of the small fluid delivery abilities of the MultiPep 2™, users can carry out PNA synthesis as low as 1 μmol. They can utilize up to 48 smaller columns (250 and 500 μL sizes) concurrently.
