  • Low-cost at commercial volumes
  • Compact size

Pressure sensors — OPP-M200, WLPI technology

LifeSens — Single channel signal conditioner

The LifeSens is a tiny signal conditioner designed exclusively for measuring physiological pressure. LifeSens delivers excellent pressure measurements with all of the capabilities required for life science applications when combined with OpSens’ OPP-M fiber optic sensors.

OpSens’ White Light Polarization Interferometry (WLPI) technology (Patent # 7,259,862) is used in the LifeSens, providing very accurate and reliable absolute Fabry-Perot cavity length measurements.

LifeSens measures pressure at a rate of 250 Hz. An inbuilt manometer automatically adapts for changes in atmospheric pressure. The system accepts the OpSens SCPROM connection, which can store the OPP-M sensor gauge factor. Upon mating the sensor, the gauge factor is smoothly sent to the LifeSens conditioner.

The LifeSens is equipped with an LCD display and can be powered by a battery. It has an RS-232 connection port as well as a conventional ± 5 V output for real-time data gathering.

The LifeSens may be controlled either directly through the front-panel keyboard or remotely using the usual RS-232 interface. A robust case with a replaceable rubber boot is offered, providing excellent mechanical protection against intense handling in difficult environments.

MultiSens — Multi-channel (2, 4, 8) signal conditioner

The MultiSens is a multi-channel, multi-purpose signal conditioner that can be used with any of Opsens Solutions’ interferometric fiber optic sensors, namely the WLPI fiber optic sensors, to monitor temperature, strain, pressure, and position.

The Opsens Solutions’ White Light Polarization Interferometry (WLPI) technology (patent # 7,259,862) is at the heart of the MultiSens, providing a means for making precise and absolute measurements of the path length variation of any type of interferometric fiber optic sensor, whose difference varies depending on the measure and of interest.

The MultiSens provides consecutive readings from more than eight measurement channels, as well as a full-scale resolution of ± 0.003% and an accuracy of ± 0.01%. It has an RS-232 communication port as well as a regular ± 5 Volt output for real-time data gathering.

The MultiSens can be controlled either directly through the front-panel keyboard or remotely via the usual RS-232 interface.

The MultiSens is backward compatible with all Opsens Solutions WLPI sensors and meets the performance requirements of a wide variety of critical measurement applications.
