Alginate 5% from Advanced BioMatrix is a viscous alginate hydrogel, ideal for both casting and bioprinting.
Users can make use of it on their own, then mix it with one more hydrogel to make the blend ionically crosslinkable, or dilute it with the help of the Reconstitution Agent M to obtain their target concentration.
Also, Alginate 5% is a biomaterial that offers an outstanding environment with the proper osmotic pressure for mammalian cells. As a result of its translucent appearance, alginate tends to reduce optical interference while making both fluorescent and brightfield images. This allows imaging of various layers of cells present in a 3D construct. Alginate tends to ionically crosslink with the Crosslinking Agent, consisting of calcium ions.
