The temperature transduction process used by the OTG-M Series sensors is a well-proven method based on the temperature-dependent bandgap of gallium arsenide (GaAs) crystal. The optical fiber is well-suited for tip measurement applications because it has a microscale GaAs crystal at the tip.

OpSens’ SCBG (Semiconductor Bandgap) signal conditioning technology and the advantages of fiber optic have been combined into the OTG-M Series.
