The STAT-Site® WB analyzer has been specifically designed for whole blood multi-patient use in professional healthcare environments as a tool to track the efficacy of a diabetes control program.
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) can manifest in diabetic patients who have abnormally high levels of ketones. βHB is the main ketone body that occurs in the blood during DKA, because of this, it is a more suitable test when compared to conventional nitroprusside reaction urine tests that are not capable of measuring the βHB levels.
Using two different strips, the STAT-Site® WB analyzer offers results in just 5 seconds for glucose and 10 seconds for β-ketones. This allows clear and extensive management of diabetes patients who exhibit early signs of DKA and enables rapid treatment and monitoring of such patients on a routine basis.
