Dr. Damien Jonas Wilson is a medical doctor whose training in general medicine and surgery is finely complemented with a degree in biomolecular engineering. This is in addition to a myriad of personal and professional experiences, which, beyond the shadow of any doubt, highlight his commitment to medicine, science, and research. Alongside these attributes, he has a fervent interest in politics, is a passionate debater, trains mixed martial arts, and has love and dedication to his family that is unparalleled by anything else.

Dr. Wilson was born in the northeastern Caribbean island of Soualiga, which is better known as Saint Martin. It is the smallest landmass in the world that is peacefully divided between two nations, namely, French Saint Martin to the north, and Dutch Sint Maarten to the south.

Dr. Wilson completed his training in biomolecular engineering (BASc.Eng.) at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and carried out his dissertation for this qualification in the field of oncology at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States.

Dr. Wilson then continued on to the Republic of Croatia where he completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) training at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine and did so with a distinction of the Dean’s Commendation for top academic performance. Following the end of his training, Jonas returned home to Soualiga, where he began working at the Sint Maarten Medical Center.

During his tertiary education, Dr. Wilson was a student-peer-teacher at the Department of Pathophysiology at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, and a guest lecturer at the University North, which is Croatia’s newest public university. Moreover, he has published several scientific papers in reputable research journals. Furthermore, he has also co-authored various conference papers for the American Society for Microbiology, among others. Towards the latter years of his university-level studies, Jonas was actively involved in research in the fields of cancer genetics, molecular biology, clinical microbiology, hemato-oncology, clinical neurology and neuroscience.
