The CryoMill from RETSCH has been specifically created for cryogenic grinding. Liquid nitrogen from the combined cooling system constantly helps cool the grinding jar both prior to and during the grinding process.

This process helps to preserve the volatile components and keep the sample embrittled. The liquid nitrogen flows through the system and an autofill system is constantly refills it in the required proportion to maintain a temperature of -196 °C.

An ideal grinding efficiency is obtained via powerful impact ball milling. The autofill system removes direct contact with liquid nitrogen and makes the operation extremely safe. At room temperature, the CryoMill allows for wet, cryogenic, and dry grinding, thereby making it suitable for quantities of up to 20 ml.
