Microwell diameter

Glass Bottom Dishes

A 14 mm glass microwell is adequate for the majority of applications. Select a microwell with a diameter of 10 mm if the application is cell-limited or to reduce the number of media or reagents used.

The ideal coverslip thickness for the majority of applications is No. 1.5, particularly when using high numerical aperture objectives to improve image quality. For thicker specimens, the No. 0 coverslip offers the longest working distance.

Coatings and special orders

Collagen- and Poly-d-lysine-coated 96-well plates are special order products offered by MatTek. Additionally, the following Advanced BioMatrix coatings are suggested:

  • Poly-D-Lysine
  • Poly-L-Lysine
  • Poly-L-Ornithine
  • Type IV Collagen
  • Vitronectin
  • PureCol® Type I Collagen
  • Fibronectin
