Overview

The Normal Human Melanocytes (NHM) and Growth Medium (NHM-GM) from MatTek provide an excellent screening platform for materials that affect skin pigmentation. For better product development, results from MatTek’s NHM can be transmitted to the 3D MelanoDerm tissue model.

MatTek’s NHMs provide efficiency and accessibility for the analysis of melanogenesis, compound screening, toxicity testing, and product development and are available from neonatal or adult donors of multiple ethnicities.

Features

NHMs from donor tissue that is either neonatal (NHM-CRY-NEO) or adult (NHM-CRY-AD) are isolated and cryopreserved by MatTek.

The melanocytes are assured to have ≥75% viability upon thawing and to provide ≥12 population doublings when cultured in NHM-GM Growth Medium in full compliance with the MatTek NHM protocol. Dendritic morphology and MEL-5 expression are features of NHMs.
