Since his early childhood, Ahmed has such an inquisitive mind that cannot stop searching for answers. His mind has always been skeptic and questionable. He has never been satisfied with simple answers such as “Yes” or “No”.
His passion for life sciences started at the secondary school, which pushed him to study microbial/drug interactions at the molecular level. After having a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, he obtained his thesis-based Master of Science in Microbiology.
His Master’s thesis was about multidrug resistance in bacteria, the nightmare for microbiologists. Therefore, he has a good grasp of biomedical sciences, particularly medical microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, and microbiology of diseases.
He is an awardee of TWAS Ph.D. fellowships. TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences) is a worldwide merit-based science academy located in Trieste, Italy. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in Microbiology and Immunology at the Department of Biosciences, COMSATS University Islamabad. According to Nature Index, COMSATS University Islamabad was ranked first in research output in Pakistan between 1 December 2018 and 30 November 2019.
Ahmed’s enthusiasm for writing motivated him to join Upwork as a medical writer and researcher. Just one year after joining, he became a top-rated freelance writer at Upwork, a badge only granted to hard-working, dedicated freelancers in Upwork’s community.
Out of his belief that any day passing without learning new information is nothing but a waste of time, he launched a blog to introduce the latest scientific discoveries in a simple and concise way. His blog’s name is “Everyday Science in a Nutshell”, a name that reflects the purpose of the blog.
Ahmed’s passion for breakthrough discoveries, especially biomedical ones, still captivates him completely. His work as a biomedical writer and researcher not only keeps him up with the latest research updates but also fulfills his colossal passion.
“Readers are Leaders” phrase has always been spinning in his mind. Hope, faith, and determination are what define him. His mind was hooked by reading, writing, and curiosity. His preferred slogan is "Knowledge Is Power”.
In his spare time, he plays table tennis, reads books, hears epic music, and watches some landmark movies.
