Overview

ioSkeletal Myocytes are human iPSC-derived skeletal myocytes precision reprogrammed with the help of opti-ox™ technology.

Skeletal myocytes are provided cryopreserved, upon revival the cells quickly mature developing extended striated, multinucleated muscle cells that tend to contract within 10 days. It is simple to culture; skeletal myocytes constantly display high population purity expressing main myofilament proteins like Desmin and Myosin Heavy Chain (MHC).

ioSkeletal Myocytes offer a source of highly-defined, constant, and trustworthy human muscle cells for disease modeling, research, and high-throughput screening throughout areas like neuromuscular, muscle, and linked to metabolic disorders.

Features

Consistent

Batch-to-batch reproducibility and homogeneity make a firm human model for the study of neuromuscular, muscle, and linked to metabolic disorders.

Quick

Form striated, multinucleated, myocytes by day 10 post revival, that contract in reaction to acetylcholine.

Easy-to-use

Cells arrive programmed to quickly mature upon revival. One medium is needed in a two-step protocol.

Applications

  • Muscle and neuromuscular research
  • Contractility assays
  • Amenable to high throughput screening
  • 3D co-cultures
